Hello Everybody! :)

Wow this is so damn cool! Blogspot becomes more user-friendly to html idiots like ME! :P

Well i have been MIA-ing for a few days, hope nobody around died missing me... hohoho...

I have been slacking alot at home, reading alot of books to kill time. (yah wat's new rite...) I finished two Mitch Albom books, the more well-known ones "The five people you meet in heaven" and "Tuesdays with Morrie". I am extremely glad to have read these two wonderfully engaging books, thanks to Xiaohan who readily lent them to me. :)

Well, those two books made me reflect upon my life, and more importantly, my attitude towards life and those people who mattered to me. As i read The five people you meet in Heaven, i am marvelled at the thought of how closely connected human beings are. We may not know each other should we walk past on the crowded street, but we never know how their actions would have intervened with our lives. That's something very intriguing. Perhaps because of this, whatever we do, we must do it with an honest and sincere mind, and never regret our doings. I have to admit that we might make mistakes along the way, but as long as we know what went wrong, and promised ourselves to do it the right way in future, and not let ourselves down, that's truly enough.

"tuesdays with Morrie" hit me more strongly. I can't say exactly why, but perhaps it was that extraordinary exhibition of strength and character of Morrie who knew he was dying that touched me so much. I have heard totally contrasting comments about this book; some friends tell me how much they have learnt from reading the book, while some tell me they felt it was crappy. Well, for me it certainly wasn't crappy at all. After reading the book, i looked into my own life more carefully for a similar mentor like Morrie. A few came into my mind, but none has the impact that strong as Morrie had on Albom. In a way, reading this book has made Morrie my 'mentor'. I took in what he told the author, and began to reflect my nineteen years of life on Earth. Yes, i strongly believe that i should never wait to tell someone my feelings or make my feelings and thinking heard. In the past i lived everyday to my fullest. But as i lost myself in the the endless schoolwork and stress that i felt in school, i lost that completely. sometimes i remind myself how i should live, but most of the time, i lived, without living. It always hurt when i realise this, because i believe life is very short and i don't want to waste my precious moments being alive. Thus i have made peace with my aunt (although she's still treating me rather coldly. But at least i made myself heard.) I appreciate the little things that my friends would do for me; each and every gathering and lunch and dinner with my dear friends, my dear juniors and of course my family... To pursue my love for reading and my love for music, the dreams that i have, and to believe in myself and my own ability, my own set of values though it may be different from the society and culture that i am immersed in... :)

Well well... i certainly felt much more than what i have put down above, but due to my crippling english, i can't express fully. *grin* I just hope to share this with everyone who reads my blog, and urge you to live your life like this:

"Devote yourself to loving others. Devote yourself to your community around you. Devote yourself to create something that gives you purpose and meaning."
 - Morrie Schwartz - *quote from Tuesdays with Morrie*
