Grrr...
On my way to Temasek JC just now, as i boarded the bus 38 from Bedok Interchange, there's this Aunty who boarded the bus after me. She was babbling loudly in Cantonese, and her poor companion, an obviously irritated Aunty2, was pouting and both of them sat beside me.
"blahblahblahblah? blahblah! blahblahblahblah!!!" She rattled in rapid-fire Cantonese agitatedly, at the same time trying to illustrate wat she was saying using both of her arms. She was like drawing something in the air like a great artist... then suddenly, she pushed herself into the seat and propped herself up to adjust the aircon, and then continued to ramble on in Cantonese at a high decibel.
Just two stops before my stop, or rather just before the bus reach that bus stop, she exclaimed in Cantonese: " blahblahblah?! blahblah!!" Aunty2 franctically looked for the bell, but there wasn't any at arm's length. So both of them hurried to get to the exit door and, with two loud clicks of her heels as she stepped down, off they went...
Then, the sound of sweet n comfortable silence greeted my ears. I could nearly hear the uncle sitting opposite me sighing in relief.
And oh yes, i don't understand Cantonese... After today i realised that Cantonese is really a great language for loud people. It really allows them to fully express their thoughts and emotion to a great extent. Hmm...
*ponder*
